EX-Gems can be found in chests, dropped/stolen from bosses, or bought from the Nekonin in exchange for Grade Points (buying them is never suggested because it's a waste of GP for something you can find quite a lot of). - Each character can only equip a maximum of 4 EX-Gems. EX-Gems also come in 4 levels, and with each level there are 4 different boosts (also different depending on the character). - If you only equip 1 Gem, choose a certain boost to determine what "type" your character will start to lean toward on the "type" meter. There are only 2 different "types", Technical and Strike. They control what skills your character will learn. So you must set a S type boost in order to get a S type skill. - EX-Skills are only possible when 2 or more EX-Gems are equipped, not to mention they must be set to the right combination for you to get an EX-Skill (which is where this guide comes in). - You must fight at least one battle with the EX-Gems equipped (having the right combinations) in order to learn the EX-Skill(s). - If 2 EX-Gems are set on opposing types (one S and the other T type), the S and T will cancel and the meter will stay put. If there are 3 EX-Gems and 2 are on S type while the other is T, the meter will shift to the S side. - Finally, once you equip an EX-Gem, you CANNOT take it off. All you can do is REPLACE it with another EX-Gem. This makes it harder to change an EX-Skill whenever you want since you start to use up EX-Gems.
